450MHz Alliance held its Autumn/Winter general assembly on the 16th of October in Hong Kong. The event was in conjunction with Qualcomm’s 4G/5G Summit, 16-18 October, at Kerry Hotel in Kowloon. Many Alliance members and guests attended the meeting. Traditionally, the first block was dedicated to operators who shared their progress in development 450 MHz-based networks. The spectrum of applications ranged from mobile broadband to utilities, PPDR, transportation and business critical applications in general.
Our Standards & Regulatory working group reported on its activities in various international regulatory bodies to harmonize and promote 450 MHz spectrum. The group had its stand-alone session after the general meeting. Lead by group’s chair Daan Beaufort, members of the group discussed near-term objectives. Should you be interested in learning more about the group’s activities, contact us on our Contacts page.
450MHz Alliance member vendors presented their latest product solutions both in infrastructure and terminal equipment. As usual, the Assembly offered excellent networking opportunity to exchange and discuss important issues of the industry. As NB-IoT applications become essential part of wireless landscape, 450 MHz band rapidly moving toward mainstream and attracts more and more players.
