Secure Land Communications (SLC), an Airbus programme unit, offers mission- and business-critical communication and collaboration tools based on advanced hybrid solutions combining Tetra, Tetrapol, and broadband technologies. SLC’s dense portfolio is tailored to the needs of Public Safety professionals, as well as users in the fields of Transport, Utility and Industry (TUI), Healthcare, and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs). It includes infrastructures, networks, devices, applications, software, and services, based on the latest technologies, which enhance situational awareness, improve user experience and safety, and optimize operational efficiency. As the European leader and a key international player, SLC has customers in over 80 countries and employs people in 20 countries.

Strongly involved in multinational R&D projects, we also set the standards for future technologies based on 4G and 5G.
On a wider scale, Secure Land Communications and other Airbus programme units are involved in multiple 5G projects. Some examples of these are the 5G Epicentre project and NTN; a Space based network infrastructure that is destined to complement the 5G terrestrial mobile networks that are currently being deployed. This will lead to satellite communications becoming an integrated and indispensable part of the global telecommunications ecosystem with the potential to grow existing market segments such as backhauling and to expand into new areas such as hybrid networks and the Internet of Things (IoT).
