PGE fast tracks the preparations for LTE450 rollout in Poland
Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) announced in October 2020 that LTE450 network rollout and operations will be one of the key elements of its new strategic program until 2030.
By the end of 2020, business tests of LTE-M should be completed, so that in 2021 tenders for the supply of equipment and infrastructure for the LTE450 network can begin.
The LTE450 communication system being built will ensure the reliability of dispatcher work, but above all, it will support the integration of renewable energy sources as well as distributed energy and energy storage.
Polska Grupa Energetyczna informs that the work schedule assumes the launch of basic services in the LTE450 network, as well as the expansion of coverage in Poland and the implementation and development of new services, such as the Internet of Things. In 2021, PGE Group plans to launch procurement procedures for key components of the network infrastructure. The LTE450 pilot projects are to confirm the possibility of extending the scope of the planned implementation with new services (LTE-M).
