From Industrial IoT to AIoT: Intelliport Invites Customers and Partners to Shape the Next Generation of Critical Infrastructure Devices

Artificial intelligence is no longer a standalone concept. In industrial and mission-critical environments, the real transformation is happening where AI meets connected devices, secure communication networks and operational data. This is the world of AIoT and hybrid AI: intelligence distributed between the edge and the cloud, designed to support faster decisions, more efficient data usage and more resilient operations.

Intelliport is inviting customers, operators, system integrators and technology partners to join its Strategic Partnership Programme and take an active role in shaping the next generation of industrial IoT products, platforms and lifecycle services.

At the centre of this initiative is Intelliport’s upcoming IPS-24x Edge AI product family, together with IoTrinity, the next evolution of Intelliport’s device management and data collection platform. The IPS-24x family is being developed for industrial and critical infrastructure use cases where connectivity alone is no longer enough. Future systems must be secure by design, scalable in deployment, efficient in bandwidth usage and capable of supporting intelligent edge-side processing.

The IPS-24x family is planned to include compact Edge AI bridge, router and gateway variants for use cases such as smart grid, smart energy, industrial automation, smart city infrastructure, remote monitoring, distributed energy resources, sensor aggregation and secure device management. The product concept combines reliable wireless connectivity, IT/OT separation, advanced routing and VPN capabilities, secure firmware lifecycle management, and support for AI-enabled functions such as anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, log analytics and operational decision support.

In parallel, IoTrinity is being developed as an integrated, AI-enabled Smart IoT platform. It will extend Intelliport’s existing management platform with advanced capabilities for AI-based fault diagnostics, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, adaptive scalability, secure device management, interoperability and mobile connectivity management. The hybrid AI architecture will allow central components to support model training, validation, optimisation and lifecycle management, while selected edge-side components can perform low-latency local inference and filtering closer to the field.

This approach is especially relevant in the 450 MHz ecosystem. Critical infrastructure networks often prioritise coverage, availability, penetration and operational control over raw bandwidth. In such environments, efficiency matters. Edge and hybrid AI can help reduce unnecessary data transmission by identifying what is relevant locally, prioritising events, detecting anomalies earlier and forwarding meaningful insights instead of only raw data streams. Even when bandwidth is limited, intelligent edge processing can enable high operational efficiency on highly reliable networks.

Security is a core design principle. Intelliport’s roadmap places strong emphasis on secure boot, TPM-based security, encrypted communication, secure firmware updates, IEC 62443 alignment, robust device management including lwm2m, role-based administration and strong separation between operational zones. For utilities, public infrastructure operators and industrial customers, these capabilities are becoming essential as device fleets grow and cyber resilience becomes part of everyday operational responsibility.

Scalability is equally important. Intelliport’s experience in industrial IoT device development, field deployment and manufacturing through established European manufacturing partners allows the company to support both customised projects and larger-scale rollouts. The goal is not only to deliver devices, but to support the full lifecycle: concept definition, proof of concept, product adaptation, mass deployment  and remote management, firmware evolution, diagnostics and long-term technical support.

Through the Strategic Partnership Programme, participating customers and partners can receive early visibility into Intelliport’s product and system roadmap, access to selected product samples and early platform capabilities, and the opportunity to influence future features before they are finalised. The programme is designed as a collaborative, obligation-free framework for organisations that want to ensure that upcoming devices and platforms reflect real operational needs.

Intelliport believes that the future of critical infrastructure digitalisation will not be defined by AI alone. It will be defined by secure, scalable and lifecycle-managed deterministic AIoT systems operating across reliable networks, including 450 MHz-based infrastructures, where every byte, every event and every decision matters.

Intelliport welcomes customers and partners who share this vision to join the Strategic Partnership Programme and help shape the next generation of Edge AI, AIoT and hybrid AI solutions for critical infrastructure.
