MeiG Smart Joins the 450 MHz Alliance to Advance Critical Communications for Utilities

Membership brings LTE Cat.4 and 5G RedCap modules, industrial CPEs and field experience from a Brazilian utility private network to the global 400/450 MHz ecosystem.

A 450 MHz portfolio spanning LTE and 5G RedCap

MeiG Smart has developed a 450 MHz product portfolio that gives customers a practical migration path from 4G LTE to 5G RedCap. The SLM770A is an LTE Cat.4 module supporting 450 MHz Bands 31 and 72. The SRM813Q combines 5G RedCap and LTE Cat.4, supporting NR n31/n72 and LTE B31/B72 for next-generation private-network deployments while maintaining compatibility with established LTE ecosystems.

At the terminal level, the SLT796 LTE Cat.4 industrial CPE and SRT896 RedCap plus LTE Cat.4 industrial CPE are designed for utility and industrial connectivity. The SLT796 integrates serial and Ethernet interfaces, flexible DC, AC and PoE power options, wide-temperature operation, and DIN-rail, wall-mount or desktop installation. These capabilities support applications such as smart-meter concentrator backhaul, distribution automation, telemetry and industrial data collection.

Contributing to the global 450 MHz ecosystem

As a member of the 450 MHz Alliance, MeiG Smart plans to contribute to the terminal and module ecosystem, share practical experience from utility deployments, and participate in technical, market and interoperability discussions. The company also aims to work with Alliance members on product validation, joint customer development, industry events and case-study publication, supporting wider adoption of dedicated 450 MHz networks for power, water, oil and gas, transport, rail and public-safety applications.
