PGE Group is starting a tender for the implementation of the LTE450 core network
PGE Group has announced earlier today a tender for the purchase and implementation of LTE450 core network components. The subject of the contract is to be performed by the end of 2023, and the guarantee and maintenance of the network is to be provided by the contractor until August 2033.
The LTE450 communication network is one of the most important investment tasks of the PGE Group. LTE technology provides voice connectivity as well as the broadband services required nowadays. The modern LTE450 network and the telecommunications system under construction will support the integration of renewable energy sources, distributed energy and energy storage, as well as ensure reliable dispatching and remote communication with energy meters – said Wojciech Dąbrowski, President of the Management Board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
PGE’s action plan for the coming years assumes the implementation and commissioning of basic LTE450 network services by 2025, the gradual expansion of its coverage, the provision of basic communication services, and the development of new services dedicated to the energy sector. The scope of implementation also provides for the performance of works outside the PGE Group, in particular for other entities in the energy sector.
The tender includes the delivery and implementation of two separate LTE450 core network environments (production and test), enabling comprehensive provision of broadband transmission services for devices operating in LTE450 technology. The basic scope also includes the provision of training in the field of operation and maintenance of the implemented environments until December 31, 2023. In addition, the contractor will be required to provide warranty and support and technical maintenance services for the implemented environments by August 8, 2033.
