RugGear will develop a new 450MHz LTE handheld device with band31, band72 and band 87 support

RugGear is developing a new model for LTE450 MHz (bands 31, 72 and 87) to support a European operators’ requirement. The new model will come into market before 2024.

RugGear has currently band 31 LTE model RG760 in product range. The RG760 has been tested successfully in a project in Spain. The country is migrating Tetrapol narrowband services to a new mission critical LTE-based broadband using 450MHz spectrum as base service. “Given the accumulated experience from RG760, there are some features that can be improved for the future users.” says the RugGear R&D director Alex.

There is a great potential market in Tetra migration to broadband projects. Tetra narrowband solution has the security and confidentiality advantage, but it also has a low transmission rate weakness. The broadband evolution solution costs less and improves the user experience a lot with multiple features. Based on the characteristics that the B31, B72 and B87 LTE frequencies are close to the Tetra 450MHz spectrum, RugGear product offers even lower-cost for end user, yet with multiple features to replace traditional Tetra handheld device. It is time for RugGear to make an evolution model to meet customers’ requirements from different countries. Like RugGear always did, they do not just offer one single product, but also continuously products with evolution solution.
